These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the cleaning services (“Services”) provided by InstaMaids (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) to the customer (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”). By booking a cleaning service with InstaMaids, you agree to these Terms.
- Nature of Services
InstaMaids provides residential and commercial cleaning services.
We assign qualified independent contractor cleaners (“Contractors”) to perform the Services.
Contractors are not employees, but they represent InstaMaids while performing work for our customers.
InstaMaids:
- Sets service standards
- Handles scheduling and customer support
- Manages service quality and guarantees
Contractors:
- Perform cleaning using their professional judgment and experience
- Provide their own transportation and pay their own taxes
- Access to Property
You agree to provide:
- Safe entry to the property
- Accurate access instructions
- A safe working environment
If cleaners are unable to access the property, a lockout fee up to the full appointment cost may be charged.
- Scope of Work
Each cleaning includes the tasks listed on our website or booking form.
If the home is significantly cluttered, extremely dirty, or requires specialty cleaning (e.g., biohazard, heavy pet waste, mold, hoarding), additional charges may apply or the cleaning may be refused.
- Payment
Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise arranged.
If payment fails, service may be paused until resolved.
Late payments may incur fees.
- Satisfaction Guarantee / Re-Clean Policy
If you are not satisfied with your cleaning, notify us within 24 hours with photos and details.
We will:
- Evaluate the issue
- Offer a free re-clean of the affected areas within 3 days when reasonable, or
- Offer a partial refund, at our discretion
Refunds are not issued for:
- Preferences or expectations not listed in the service scope
- Situations where the property was excessively soiled beyond the booked service level
- Damages & Loss
Any damage or loss must be reported within 72 hours of the service, along with photos and a description.
Upon verification:
- InstaMaids may repair or reimburse up to the cost of direct damage only
- We do not cover pre-existing damage, normal wear, or items not secured/mounted properly (ex: loose shelves, unsecured TVs, fragile décor)
We do not compensate for:
- Emotional distress
- Lost income
- Indirect or incidental damages
This limitation is necessary to keep service rates fair for all clients.
- Safety
We do not clean:
- Human or animal waste beyond normal bathroom sanitation
- Mold, blackwater, or hazardous materials
- Areas requiring climbing above a 2-step ladder
- Infested properties (fleas, roaches, bed bugs, rodents)
If these conditions are discovered, the appointment may be terminated and charged at full price.
- Pets
Pets must be secured if aggressive or disruptive.
We are not responsible for pets escaping due to unsecured conditions.
- Cancellation & Rescheduling
- Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a fee.
- Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled cleaning will be charged $75.
- Non-Solicitation of Cleaners
You agree not to hire, directly employ, contract, or solicit any InstaMaids cleaner outside of InstaMaids for 12 months following your last service.
If violated, you agree to pay a referral / buyout fee of $3,000 per cleaner.
This fee reflects the cost of recruitment, training, scheduling, and lost business.
- Independent Contractor Acknowledgment
You acknowledge that cleaners are independent contractors, not employees.
This does not waive InstaMaids’ responsibility to ensure service standards and customer care.
- Liability Limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by law, InstaMaids’ total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the service in question.
- Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which the service was performed.
- Acceptance
By booking a service with InstaMaids, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms.
